    Is there a place on the web where you can check VIN's for free? Don't have to know anything about the history, just want to know ior some cars exist. Sometimes I come across a VIN that does not look good, and I want to know if that's true.

    Thanks

    @dakharris
    sorry, once again this web-site is just usefull for U.S. cars!!!
    F.E.:

    The tenth digit is used to designate the year model for vehicles produced for the U.S. market.
    A = 1980 K = 1989
    B = 1981 L = 1990
    C = 1982 M = 1991
    D = 1983 N = 1992
    E = 1984 O = NOT USED
    F = 1985 P = 1993
    G = 1986 Q = NOT USED
    H = 1987 R = 1994
    I = NOT USED S = 1995
    J = 1988 T = 1996

    My 1991 Testarossa got a O for 1991!!! And its correct.

    No it didn't. VIN's never have an O.
    It will be a 0, that's different ;)
    only american models and far east have numbers and letters for the building year .

    And what I am trying to find is something where I can chack all the VINS I find, so a mail to Ferrari won't work, just like a mail to ferrari owners site

    For US Ferraris are other VIN`s used!
    I have got all the papers, documents, history from my car and the VIn is proofed by Ferrari Italy.
    Thats my VIN - Ferrari Testarossa 1991
    ZFFAA17B000091239
    You see there is no way to compare it with the US list!!!!

    Here is a link to a web-site where you can clearly see whats going on with all the 0 and O.
