    I am currently looking at a 355 GTS F1 from 98 with VIN starting with ZFFXR42B but cant sem to find an explenation for the XR. According to sites on the net the X should stand for 328 U.S.A. / Japan but this is a european 355 GTS acording to paper.

    I am also woundering if there is any ID on the car identifing the Fiorano package.

    X=355w/motronic 5.2,R= airbags w/3 pt. seat belts. On the fiorano pack. I'm not aware of one. Hope that helps, Vern

    That solved the problem! The X seems to stand for both 328 and late 355's.
