...this is probably such an elementary question that NNO is going to fall out of his chair! OK is the assembly number the last 6 digits of the VIN or is it a different number?

I need a door pin item 73 on http://www.ricambiamerica.com/parts_catalogs.php?M=FE&P=&V=diag&I=957 which changes over after Assembly #32464, my car is #122700 (on the little interior plaque), do I use 22700?

    Confused!!

NO, the VIN is the VIN, the assembly number is the internal number they use, it's different...

Maybe NNO will know where to look on your car for it....

In our old ones it's scratched/stamped in or wax pencil...

    I love threads like this!

Is your car really Grigio Ingrid with dark blue leather? If so, I would love to see pictures! That sounds like a beautiful combination!

See the picture below to locate your assembly number. The assembly number is an internal number assigned to each car by the factory. The assembly number has nothing to do with the serial number. There are back to back serial numbers whose assembly numbers are far apart.

This thread has given me an idea! I think I'll start a thread for each model with pictures that detail where all of this information is located so that people can find it in case they need it.

Great idea but all people would need to do is open the first few pages of their owners manual and it tells you where all the information plates and decals are.

That's an excellent idea, especially for the older cars whose books / manuals have been 'lost'.

So that's a yes on the Grigio Ingrid / dark blue? :)

Then it's settled! I confess I already started - but I started with the most important and significant Ferrari to ever leave the company: The Enzo. But I guess I can start with the older cars. :)
