At what age do we, (that's the Royal we), say a Ferrari, (or any car), becomes a vintage/classic car ? and Why ? Steve
We had an extensive debate on this on the old board, and came up with 1969 as the dividing line. This is why the "Vintage" area on F-Chat references 1969. As I recall, it had to do with the date Enzo ceded control over the road cars to Fiat.
Classic and Vintage are quite different. Ferrari has chosen on it's own to classify cars from the 308 back to the 365GT4BB as "Classic" in the spare parts section of www.owners.ferrari.com . Cars made before that would be in turn "Vintage" and cars made after that would be "Modern". I have suggested to Rob that a "Classic" section be stared on FC using that very criteria. Hopefully that will be started soon.
