That’s a cool piece. I have a girard perregaux ferrari 330-p4 I’m thinking of selling as well. Does it not run with a new battery?

 

A mechanical movement you would have to wind.

 

Try winding the stem and see if you hear a clicking. It may also just be to set the hands.

 

The case back doesnt have the engraved Cavallino like in the link?

 

FWIW, Ken -The link you posted says in the description:

"Swiss Made, Quartz movement."

(That means it's got a battery)

And...

"The battery will have to be removed prior to shipping, according to the airlines regulations."

(That also means it has a battery)

You would have to read all thru the wrist watcth discusiion to find this tidbot but the Cartier Series used both Quartz monvements (Seiko) for the battery powered watches and a self winding mechanical movement, which is considered more durable and long lasting.

However my chronograph was electric from the Cartier store.
Came with a special enlarged edition of Piloti Che Gente with purchase.
