I don't know a thing about the vintage stuff, and would not afford it if I did, but my next purchase will be either a G&L or a Musicman 4-string Bass.....

Awesome! I look forward to any LPs, especially vintage ones. It sounds like you have a great collection of fine vintage instruments. I wish I could own a vintage LP or strat, but until then I'll have to settle for getting a Custom Shop Historic R7, R8, or R9 (maybe even an R0).

I also own a few Custom Shop guitars that I love. I love my Jon English 54' Strat, it's amazing! When I get home from the mountains I will post pics of the 52' and 56" les pauls.

Time for a Bump to this thread with some inquiries!

I am about to make some serious gear changes. I just want to get second opinions to see if I'm crazy or not. To start things off, I've been playing for almost 10 years now and have kept every single piece of equipment I have. I think it's time for a change as I haven't played the ZW for quite some time because it's beyond loud (though that is also my fault for putting it at 5 or 6) and too agressive. I want something more organic, bluesy, and soulful...give me TONE!

List of Gear I have that I may turn-over:
Marshall JCM 800 2203 Zakk Wylde head & matching 1960A cab
    Vintage VOX AC/30
Marshall Lead 15 (very rare purple tolex & brown basketweave cloth)

    Proposed Changes:
Marshall JCM 800 2203 Zakk Wylde head with 1960A matching cab - I bought this for a total of $2400 in 2002. I am thinking of selling it for $3,000 as I've seen some on ebay for around this price and they have sold (some haven't because the seller wants local pickup or it's a BIN price as the opening bid).

VOX AC/30 - bought this for $2,000 that came with an extra set of speakers (Mackenzies and Vox speakers). Thinking of selling this for around $1700 or market value. Whatever I can get. I think I got scammed initially.

Marshall Lead 15 - sell this for around $350-375. I know it's more than the regular models, but the Zakk Wylde one is $349 and is actually more common than mine.

    TOTAL SALES: $4,000

    Proposed Purchases:
Marshall Vintage Modern 2246 with matching 425A cab -$2,200
    Fender Blues Deluxe - $699

    Dr. Z Mazerati 18w - $1849 --or-- Fargen MiniPlex III - $1700?

So that would be right around my total sales amount. Is this preposterous? Am I nuts? Am I making sense?

I've also thought of forgoing the Mazerati or MiniPlex and getting a Gretsch G6118T Anniversary w/ Bigsby. I think this would sound killer through the Blues Deluxe and 2266. Give me something like a Rev. Horton Heat sound. OR...I could forgo the Mazerati/MiniPlex and get a used LPGT57 or maybe a used R8 (if possible).

I'm not looking for someone to pick for me, but I definitely need some guidance.

    Time for a bump...

While not exactly vintage, they will be one day. Here are the few items I've picked up in the last few months. I gotta stop the madness.
2007 4003 Ric, 98ish Tobias guitar (quite rare, made by Gibson), late 07/early 08ish Composite Acoustics RTG Model 6M-CE (all carbon fiber).

Soon, I'll have a bit more time in my calendar to mess with these toys. Regarding the small tube amp, I ended up with a US made Crate/Palomino V16. Simple 15w tube amp.

Do you know what model Ibanez? I collect 70's Ibanez guitars and have about 20. If it's for sale let me know.

How about an early 80's Ibanez five string bass? Or are you particular to 70's and guitars only?

It is a Roadstar II which I had professionally converted to fretless back in 1990. Plays well. Isn't in perfect shape, but has that faded, yellowed out pearl color to it. I just rarely pick it up and it sits on the wall or in its case most of the time.

I know that feeling. I have 6 guitars that I have never played. Just kind of spur of the moment purchases because they were to cheap to pass on. I just hate selling guitars.

Thanks guys!! My stuff is def on the modern side but eventually would love to pic up a vintage P bass. I saw a beaut while in LA but the asking price of $28k was a bit prohibitive.
