    There is much less information out there for Maserati than Ferrari, hence me posting this question. I have been trying to find the correct models for the pictures below. It would be great to know the s/n as well.

    I know that #6 is a 350S, #21 a Tipo 250S and I think #33 is a 300S but of course I am not certain. Could 21 & 23 be the same model

    Can some of you help me out?

    Massimo,

    no.6 = 300S (#3072)
    no.33 = 300S (#3057)
    no.21 = 200S (#2415 ??)
    no.23 = 200S (#2423)

    Hope this answers your questions!

    Ciao!
    Walter

    Giotto,
    thats #3069, not one of the best 300S`s today.....! The car has a new body that was non-correctly made in Italy and it lost its original engine somewhere in the Brazilian "universe". Today a replica engine, made by Cyril Embry is fitted in the car. #3069 today is in the USA.

    Ciao!

    Baraka - its ...nothing! Crap! Not even a "semi-correct"-replica of the real thing! 300S`s were all RHD and had a transaxle gearbox.I believe this car has a 3500 GT-motor and gearbox installed and the body looks ugly! The car is not worth to think about. But I wish the owner much fun with it!

    Ciao!

    speaking of 350Ss:

    I am in Southafrica right know and coincidentally met the employee of a "respected" German car dealer (an oxymoron if there ever was one) who tried to convince me that another real 350S chassis (besides the ex-Aba Kogan car) has been found and is currently under restoration in Italy. No engine or body, iust the chassis but supposedly the German owner has bought the V12 from Klaus Werner to be put into the car. From what he told me it should be #3503. Supposedly the chassis came from South America.

    This could be iust another story BUT: what made me listen was that he maintained that Maserati/Cozza has checked thoroughly, approved and certified the chassis.

    I was in Italy at a body shop recently (not Giordanengo) where a "350S chassis" was being restored; they would not tell me more about it, but I guess this was the car.

    Has anyone heard about this?

    Regards

    Wolfi

    It is owned and was made by Michel Bouthias of Grenoble and was on display in October at Maserati of Chambery south of Geneva.

    Not correct no but it would a fun drive!

    The last comment was very informative and in the spirit of this website.

    My sources in Italy tell me that Cozza indeed certified this chassis and that Mr Orsi is furious.

    Regards

    Wolfi (still in Southafrica)

    Are you sure it's the same car. The owner of the one on my pic is the guy with a black Tshirt and a moustache on the 1st pic. I saw the car you mention at the Chambéry dealership, they maintain my SAAB. I don't think this one was registered in Savoie... and it looked better. Unfortunately i didn't have my camera with me...

    Well if that man in the moustache is the owner then that is a different car: unexpected to see two replicas in that region.

    Yes but my friend Adolfo "Rasputin" Orsi is always furious, that is his nature so what else is new :)

    By the way if I rememeber correctly you once wrote that you put velocity stacks on your Khamsin #150? If so could you post a photo of that in the adjoining Khamsin thread? Danke schon in advance!

    Best regards,

    MS

    #3072 is today with Jon Shirley in the US. The car underwent a restoration near Turino, Italy upon its sale from Germany to Hugh Taylor (UK). Here the front section of the body was replaced and unfortunately the traces of the famous shunt from Caracas 1957 were taken away.
