I have this ferrari nose badge ( i believe) .

There are no studs on it - so it is similar to the same 2 piece type that my Ellena uses, however this is larger in size. Anyone up to speed on the differences on the nose badges (without studs) - OR , help identifying
what this is for. There seems to be NO marking on the back side...had a spot of very tough glue on it, that i scraped off to see if there was any remnants of a stud or a stamping etc - thus NO to both.

It has a slight curve to it as well.

    Any thoughts, advise .......

yes the one on the ellena as i mentioned is a two piece badge - mounting base with 2 studs, chrome and a smaller badge than what is in my pic is glued to it.

same smalll curve to it as well......

earlier ferrari than the 57/58 Ellena have larger badges? two piece design?

Thank you Marcel - those look to have a rounder edge to them than mine. Also can't tell if there is mounting
plate underneath. Also, notice the foot placement on the horse is at the Ferrari Line - vs mine is higher.

Anyone else with thoughts or knowledge?

The really old/early ones had the horse's foot right IN the Ferrari script. That was modified/corrected later on. The official badge was modified over the last 75 years multiple times.

Looks like a reproduction. The early badges had finer hair on the horses

could be, but what yr/type ferrari would it be designed for......

obviously a 2 piece badge set up - so early....the 58 ellena 2 piece is smaller than this one.

I forgot about this display at the Museum, excellent reference.

So, the ones you show, have the foot reaching the line (FERRARI) .

Mine does not, so is there more variation in the displayed nose badges that resemble mine......or is mine a bad reproduction of the nose badge? Size and corners look to be the same.

    Appreciate showing the pictures.....

I have a second nose badge that was given to me 22 years ago in a round case. I was given to my friend in the early 70's from a
Ferrari executive. Here are some pics, based on the display of pages, id say this is very early, it has 2 studs on the back with brass nuts. Been in this small glass covered round case - as i was told - FOREVER.

Here are a few pics, it has a pretty good curve to it as well - more than my previous one i shared.

Application, yr? Looks close to the one Marcel posted.
