Offering 2 incredible vintage porcelain license plates - these are original and extremely rare - these are among the best condition that I have seen of plates from this era. Amazing pieces of early motoring history that make great wall / garage hangers. Alternatively, these would be amazing to display with cars from this era

Asking prices are in USD and include shipping with tracking within North America. Happy to ship worldwide at extra cost. Local buyers are welcome to inspect in the midtown Toronto area.

    1) 1915 Massachusetts plate #11960. Measures approximately 5 1/2" by 14". The reverse has a maker's stamp, though the actual manufacturer's name is unreadable. This piece has some chips along the upper edge that have been painted over previously. There is also some chipping / rust staining around the edges but not bad for the age. - $350

    2) 1915 Connecticut plate number 20525. Measures approximately 5 1/2" by 16". This one is in excellent condition for its age with some some minor chipping / wear near the mounting holes. - $450

Apologies for the typo! #1 (Massachusetts) is 1914, not 1915

Really neat. In the early days of the automobile, prior to development of a dealer network, you bought your car direct from the manufacturer. Hence all the heavy duty dealer plates; they were for delivery only.
Makes you wonder what cars those once hung onto: in CT- Corbin? Eisenhuth Horseless Carriage? The Electric Car Company?
In MA: Crest? Grout Brothers? Knox? Pope? Stanley? J.Stevens Arms co...
