I recently acquired a bunch (about 4000) of NOS spark plugs. I'd say 99% are still sealed in their factory packaging, so they are NIB.
I'm quite certain they all predate 1994, but I'm not sure how far back they date from there. Most of them were returned from distributors for updated logo repackaging, which didn't happen. They ended up sitting in a vault for decades.
They are AC and Champion brands, and there are about 65 individual part numbers. Some of those numbers are duplicates that indicate 4-6-8 cylinder applications, so there's actually not that many different plugs.
I'm trying to find out what vehicles these plugs would be used in, but finding that a difficult task. I can't seem to find a data base/ catalog/ way to enter a plug number and get a list of vehicle/motor applications.
My intent is to sell them, probably on eBay, and I would like to include this info for cross referencing purposes.
Do any of you have any ideas of an efficient way to get this kind of information?

Wow what a collection. How many different part numbers do you have? Is it possible to post some or all of them here and people can help connect them with cars or are there simply too many?

I assume you didn't buy 4000 individual plugs each with a unique part number :)

That's a lot of spark plugs!

Have you tried contacting the suppliers? They would normally put a catologue together that listed the vehicle model and the corresponding spark plug model for the distributors to use. This information will be some where.

    Good luck with it.
