    I have a pontoon boat, and the vinyl is stained, or sun damaged. There are no tears, but it looks terrible in some spots. No form of cleaner has any effect on it. I am wondering if anyone is aware of a way to "recoat" it, to make it look new again, or is the only way to reupholster it?

    There is some guy running a Craigslist ad, saying that he does exactly this. This is how his ad reads;
    If your upholstery is tired looking or sun faded and if it is free of any rips or tears it can be refurbished. The product I use is a Revolutionary molecular bonding paint that penetrates deep into vinyl or leather. It won't crack or peel and will restore the original look of your interior pieces. It will also save you Hundreds of dollars over the cost of getting your interior reupholstered. The product is Colorbond and it is factory authorized by: Bayliner,Chris Craft, SeaRay,Donzi, Tracker Boats and Mercury marine. You can view the product information and read the testimonials at Colorbond | Home. The pictures are of my 1964 Chris Craft SeaSkiff that I completed the restoration on last year.
    This is a Paint spraying process, I don't do Vinyl repair.

    These are pictures he posts. I just really feel it is hit or miss when calling someone on CL.....anyone familiar with what he is talking about?
