I'm buying seats for the Brazilian GP and I'm wondering if the VIP seats are worth the extra money. They have one for approx. $5000 where you can sit above the pits. Anyone on here try this before? Thoughts? Is it worth it?
Holey-Moley! - $5K - I'd want to be *driving* the friggin' cars for that price! As to whether it's worth it, I have no idea - Does it include a helicopter ride into the circuit on Sunday? [Would be nice]. I would assume its "fully catered", but I doubt anyone could drink their way thru 5K's worth of even Bernies expensive champagne..... Love to read your report on the experience when the time comes though. Cheers, Good luck, Ian
5k is the usual price for VIP Paddock access. So if these tickets include Paddock, I'd say go for it as that opens a door (literally) to an entirely different experience of F1. Apart from that Interlagos was my worst F1 GP, the track is in the middle of the slums, so you want to make sure you have guaranteed transport to and from. You do NOT want to walk outside of the track without an armed body guard. Have your driver deliver you at the gate and pick you up there. Also the VIP seats should give you a good view of the start and the chaos going into turn 1. I was in the grandstands just opposite the VIP seats and those were good seats too. I had the VIP Paddock seats once at the USGP and it was fantastic. Not so much because of the viewing, but for the added experience of meeting the drivers etc. One caveat about VIP seats: Normally they don't give you the best viewing for the pitstops because you sit right on top of the garages. However in Interlagos they should be nice (blue awnings), assuming they haven't changed since I was there. You can get Ferrari F1 Club VIP tickets at www.owners.ferrari.com for 4000 euros and you'll more options including access to the pits and limited access to the Ferrari team plus food and booze...
I would do it, but right now i'm pretty strapped so i'd probably have to sell a car to get there So IMO, if you have the coin to spare, do it.
I think if I were going (which I have no interest in that venue), I'd find another airport to fly into other than Congonhas. Apparently too close to residental areas, runways too short, runway not grooved (yet anyway) for rain runoff. Perhaps they can get the act together by the race. There's too many other nicer venues to attend IMO. Carol
