This has to be one of the absolute best websites I've seen in awhile. Talk about having it all together!!! http://www.virginracing.com/ Carol
Virgin Racing has confirmed that Alex Tai is no longer the team principal and that he will be replaced as chief executive by Graeme Lowden, with John Booth taking on the official role of team principal. Seems a strange time for reshuffling.
+1 A fancy website does not make you a winner on the track. Nothing more than a dog and pony show IMHO
Two young guys close to each other trying to look sexy with the caption "Enjoy the Ride" ...a little too homoerotic for my tastes... Doesn't exactly look like a racing themed site without any cars or racing related items on the screen...what are they promoting anyway? Could be anything...
does it really say enjoy the ride? lol. the whole thing is a bit too metrosexual for my taste but they couldn't come up with something newer than enjoy the ride??
as far as sites go it's clean, quick, and easy to get around...all major selling points for web development. To often web sites do not have a clear path or to many graphics which slow it down. ...Still won't make there car any faster. I always thought the websites for the F1 teams were weak..some better then others, but for an industry on the cutting edge of technology, they could be much better. Granted that does not mean they put a great deal of resources into a web site to develop new tec, but they could utilize available tech much better.
Guys, I think OP was joking or being ironic. That thing looks more like a rock band site than anything related to motorsports. last time i cheked pictures didn't even work.
I dont think so. Click "The Virgin Racing Story". Pretty neat. Just one thing; Richy B. Enough already. Oh well its his dime he can out-blitz Hugo Chavez if he wants to. I do like the motto "Screw it, Lets do it"
David, I thought similar about the motto - leaves the door open to all sorts of graphics - I couldn't get the sound to work on here so sorry no comments here. How about the Wirth Industries simulator - pretty cool. I also really like the VR logo - well thought out with forward motion - giving the appearance of action. From a technical standpoint the website is great - just the right amount of white space on the initial page with eye catching links. They already have FOUR drivers too. I liked some of the answers to the 10 question they were asked. I don't think it's a big thing that Tai is back doing other projects - actually no different than Tony Hernandes. Perhaps a situation when making application, you need to name specific people and so perhaps Tai was that name as an interim until a racing person came along. Carol
I liked the video but the rest of the sight isn't really so filled with info. You can see where Virgin is coming from though. They may be more of a throw back to the "Bentley Boys". There's a lot of style and pannach but not much on the racing or engineering going on. I wish them luck. F1 needs some new blood and some new thinking.
The Virgin website is good - it's all flash, not a ton of substance, but I think it hits exactly the spot it is trying to hit. They want to portray themselves as fresh, young, doing things with style, the bad-boys of the paddock, etc. It came across to me that way. I get the impression Branson is like that too... he's not going to put the car up there or go into a big dissertation on how they made the carbon fiber. He's looking to brand the thing and get it out there in the wild. He took a different approach than USF1, and succeeded in it. USF1 is scratching to build some credibility and they are failing miserably
+1. I like it, very hip and, yeah, flashy, but it impart the team's readiness to compete. Not that there was ever a doubt...
