+1 No damage is done. A claybar and light machine polish will be able to get it off, assuming they they dont wait months to get it done.

It doesn't sound like a clay bar may work ...

"I washed my car (Tuesday). When I finished, I dried it off, and I wiped my hand over any place on my car. It feels like sandpaper," she said.

On Thursday, Hall took her car to a detail shop, where workers tried two removers, but neither worked, she said.

Next, they tried buffing the surface with a clay disk and then used another product, which successfully removed the substance, but the car was left with a milky-white appearance and will have to be resealed, she said.

The whole process cost about $400, Hall said.

"My car is flawless -- or was. Not now," she said.

Its the hurrican Katrina of car show disasters. I bet the insurance claims associated with this will be in the neighborhood of $1MM to $2MM. Just think if all of those cars were Enzo's!!!

its funny, (well i mean it sucks) but i heard the same type of story from a person i work with when we were just talking about cars.

He used to be a contractor and a cadillac dealership asked him to repaint a portion of an upper level garage of theirs, he thought about it and declined. his greedy partner contacted them back and said he would do the job. Well on the second story of the building the wind was blowing....behind him a whole lot of brand new cars. The end result was that the job cost his partner and Caddillac presented HIM with a bill.

I just read the story and it must be something clear. You can't see it but you can feel it. Paint has a color, what is it?

Bad paint, can't see it, but it has a rough sandpaper feel to it.

Sounds like whatever they use at Earl Scheib.
