What car provides the most visceral / emotional experiences? In your opinion...

    Ferrari 458
    Porsche 911 GT3

Have driven all 3 (991 GT3), in order:

    1. Huracan- Fun everywhere, does everything well
    2. GT3 - The sharpest tool in the box, wish it was better below 6000 rpm
    3. 458 - tough review on a Ferrari forum, it Just didn’t do it for me, seemed slower than the rating, dated boring standard interior, drove this after the Huracan, couldn’t wait to take it back the excitement level fell way short of the Scuderia which I loved.....sounded good, lots of interior room

Problem with the Huracan is that everything seems so synthetic. Pops and gurgles of the exhaust are cool at first, but so manufactured. However you are right, it does everything well... like driving a Lexus

The only commonality I gathered between a Huracan and a Lexus was they both have 4 wheels.

I think the pops would get annoying if you needed it to be more than a weekend fun car.

Sorry but I think you missed my point a little. Road presence and attention, it definitely draws the look. However, the shifts are flawless (and almost unnoticeable), the steering is precise, comfort (except for seats) is exceptional, drive is comfortable and semi quiet for a conference call, technology is way better than the 458, layout of the cabin is thoughtful, and materials are incredible... almost like a Lexus. If you want something that is a little more raw and edgy, then 458. I previously had a F430, but that was a little too much of a rewind.

    Have had all 3….
I like all three for the different/distinct sounds of each.
On pure sound alone, ON THE CHOICES YOU HAVE GIVEN….
-I love the Ferrari sound the most! It’s just a great F-1(ish) sound that exudes Ferrari.
-The Porsche has a distinct racer/track sound, if that makes sense?
-The Huracan is just good all around sound for track or street, a mix between old school growl and modern hi-rips/gurgles… very noticeable to others, I’d say.
Me personally, as far as a visceral, make me take notice sound…. I’d say, and like, old American muscle, or if modern…I’m thinking Shelby GT500.
Those sounds are raw and more visceral to my 53yr old ears.

Got it......the Huracan was a very exciting drive despite it being able to do so many things well. I was picking out options for buying one when a guy close to me offered his Ford GT for sub-$200k.....game over in terms of a visceral icon.

Took the 458 out this morning for a canyon drive. It just does everything well. Later this afternoon, going to run some errands with the Huracan.

Never seen those wheels on a 458 before, they are an absolute match, well done.

My 430 manual is about as raw and visceral as I can cope with. It takes effort and concentration to shift fast and smooth.

I’d have to say the GT3. Several of them show up to the track days I go to with my track car. The GT3 spanks everything on the track. Fast, smooth, and looks great. I have a 430, but god the GT3 is an amazing car and it’s built way better than the Lambo and Ferrari. As expensive as they are, they shouldn’t still have sticky button issues.

^^^^the gt3 doesn't spank everything , my pushrod rubber band engine and leaf spring pogo suspension c6z06 can hold its own.

Which brings me to support what Richris1 said...American muscle does it for me, just my $.02.

    Ouch!
But true…. And was the reason I traded my Huracan Performante for a Speciale. The Perf synthetic pops were cool at first, then felt like boy racer. The shifts were too smooth and steering felt electric and numb for me.
Speciale is the opposite - gearshift bangs, steering, though light, is very direct and precise. Sound with modified exhaust = F1.
I’d vote for the 458 platform.

While I can't say which is the *most exciting* car

I can tell you for sure the least visceral and emotional car in Ferrari history, in fact, I argue it's the death of Ferrari

Ironically its namesake - La Ferrari

Avoid it at any cost - even if you are offered it for free.
    </sarcasm>

At least that's what the boys in this thread are saying

I actually had a Huracan Evo on order and canceled it to buy an F12. There isn't really a right answer here since the emotional experience is personal. What someone else finds the most emotional car doesn't mean you do. I recognize how good of a car the 458 is, but it never generated the same lust the F12 did. Likewise the GT3 is a pinnacle of handling and track performance, but I already had the raw track oriented handling in my GT350R. Plus the Porsche brand doesn't move me the same way Ferrari does.

Maybe the Speciale does the same thing for the 458 that the Scuderia does for the 430, but the regular 458 was WAY too soft and comfortable to be visceral to me.
