I will be traveling to the city in mid February for the weekend. I would like recommendations for restaurants in the City. I live in LA and have never toured the town. I am looking for the " If you are ever in Chicago you must go to......... Restaurant."

Any input will be greatly appreciated.

"Tavern on Rush". Its a Steakhouse in Rush St. Been there couple of times.

Besides thre restaurants, you can also check out Chicago Premium Outlet mall in Aurora.

    Have a safe trip!

Resi's Bierstube on Irving Park near Damen. Excellent German food! Good beer too!

Cape Cod Room. It's in the Drake Hotel. Old restaurant, lot's of tradition. Never had a bad meal there. Love the atmosphere.

The Pump Room. Excellent Steaks. Used to be "the place" to go for steaks. Lot's of photos of famous people on the wall.

Gene & Georgetti's. I've taken my family there and it's great.

The Palm in the Swiss Hotel. Have not been there for three or four years but when my office was close by, I would stop there mid week and really liked it. Excellent steaks and sea food.

    Mortons. Very good steaks.

    I was there once.

I think it's overrated and overcrowded.

Never wanted to go back again!

Thank you all for the advice. That's exactly what I was looking for. Sorry about the game yesterday. I was pulling for The Bears from sunny so. Cal.

BTW: A group of 10 or so of us Ferrari guys traumatized Malibu on our way to lunch up the coast yesterday. 72F lunch on the beach. My old 12 hung in with the kiddies in the 430's
