I’m visiting London in July for the first time.

not looking do the usual tourist stuff, and looking for a few recommendations for some items on my checklist.

    1. best place to get fish and chips

    2. Looking to pick up a nice felt hat looking for a good hat shop

    3. also looking for a nice billiard hall to play pool one day

thank you in advance for your recommendations

Welcome: London has quite a few chip shops and covers an area of about 1000 square miles - how about you give an indication of where you are staying first ?

For a civilised sit-down meal with fish & chips you could try one of the Ivy family (Chelsea or Kensington for example) - there are a few traditional fish & chip takeaways in that area such as at Worlds End in Chelsea - another option is a pub with sit-down fish & chips such as the Britannia in Kensington

Pool/snooker/billiards could be a challenge in safety but really is outside my knowledge

Not sure my sartorial expertise extends to felt hats but Peter Jones or Cordings might help

You might already be in London, Mike, but if you're still looking for a hatter's, there's Lock & Co in St James. Oldest hatter in the world and 'by appointment' to the James Bond films, Bond's hats and some of his co-stars.

    Pricey, though.
