I visited Maranello last week. Like always in august there wouldn't be much to see I thought. I was wrong!!!!!

When I arrived, I went straight to the Via Musso - where the entrance is - where the cars and the protoypes leave the factory. Unfortunately I found this :

But after some searching I got this in my camera; mules of the new F600. You can compare it with the size of the F575. After a while they fired up the car - sounded like an Enzo - and had to call a few mecanics to tow the car back because the engine stalled and couldn't start again. What I saw was that the car is shorter than a F612 and that the back of the car isn't ready yet. I think it will have lights like the Enzo and the F430 and will be o lot shorter. Also the line of the roof looks like a 250 GTO or a 250SWB.

I saw also a testcar of the Maserati Qauttroporte with a rollbar in it ?????

And the bast part was a test with the F1 car. No it was not Michael, Rubbens, Gene or Badoer. It was Valentino Rossi. His helmet was completely red with no logo's on it. He did 4 stints and I saw him spinning 3 times. Unfortunately, my camera is not the best so I put the best pic I have.

I know it was my 3 time but I'm going back next year.

Wow, great photos. You saw some interesting stuff, especially for August.
Does any one know when the 575 replacement is due to be released?

    Hi Geert,
Thank you very much for sharing these pictures.
They are awsome!! Those proto's are 2 different cars, depending on the different wheel in the front?
The F1 on the track is it the one they are testing with the V8??

    Thanks again!!

No it was the F2004 with Valentino in it. I spoke with a journalist who was waiting to film things for the news in Italy and he told me that Valentino would drive and maybe Gene with a testcar.

But it was only Valentino we saw. Now I read that they did a test with the V8 this week. 3 sec. slower than Michaels best time is not bad for a compleet new engine in a old chassis.

    Thanks for sharing !
