Virgil's is pretty decent barbeque, particularly given its location in the tourist zone! One of the better choices in that neighborhood. Also Becco on 46th(?) in the theater district has excellent Italian food for not big dollars. Run by Joe Bastianich (son of Lidia and famous for Felidia). All bottles of wine are one of two prices. John
I saw a nice thin asian girl dancing at Pacha friday night in these type boots with a short skirt, she was pretty hot! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Oh, didn't know that...yeah, my favorite mall around here. (Yes, I'm male and I admitted to liking that mall. ) You're right though...plus, they have Cheesecake Factory! Yummmm! Like I said, my bet's on you owning a pair of them by the time you leave NYC!
LOL, I do know that if someone takes me up on that bet you'll end up with a pair of UGGs delivered to you!
Carmine's on West 44th a couple of doors away from Virgil's is decent southern Italian at reasonable prices. There's a Heartland Brewery in the area also that has reasonably priced pub grub. John
Maybe I will check out Carmine's or just go to Virgil's again. Carbon and I are going to lunch on Saturday. I'm just trying to get to know everyone a little bit. I'll be gone before you know it.
Yesterday was pretty much a total disaster. I had to wait 2 hours ON the plane for it to depart... I'm having fun so far. We took the train to dinner last night and I, of course, got a total kick out of that, as we don't really have them in Orlando. It's pretty damn cold here!! The girls are at work now and I'm hanging out for a bit until my brother gets here with the kids. We're going to head to the Aquarium or Rockefeller Center. I'm pretty excited.
Thanks, John. I hope you can make it to lunch with us tomorrow. It should be an interesting adventure for me to travel by myself tomorrow morning...let's see how lost I can get.
Ouch I hate flying! Never had to wait that long though. Just remember, wear all black and people will think you're a New Yorker and won't bother u if u get lost!
Thanks to everyone for your suggestions! My flight was super late on Thursday, so we just went to dinner in Brooklyn and I took my first subway ride. On Friday, my brother, sister-in-law, nephew, and niece picked me up and we went to the NY Aquarium. We had a great time, as the kids really enjoyed themselves, which made it fun for us. That night we went to dinner at Gonzales y Gonzales in the city and did some shopping in SoHo, I started to feel sick. Saturday I met up with John (niptuck) for lunch at Virgil's and we had a nice time...Carbon wasn't able to make it. I walked around Times Square while waiting for my friend for a couple hours and by the time she met me at around 5:40 I was very sick, I still hadn't gotten around to feeling better from the night before. We walked around the city quite a bit and went to Rockefeller Center, 5th Avenue, walked by Central Park and took the subway to Puck Fair, as there was a surprise party for her friend and she wanted to stop by. At this point I was horribly ill and couldn't keep anything down...attractive, I know. We left around 11. I was up half the night sick and missed the Turkey Run the following morning. We rested and then got food on 7th in Brooklyn again. I was still sick when I left...I think I had a stomach virus or something, I'm still not feeling too well. I'm really happy to be home. I think NY is a little fast-paced for me. I don't know that I'd ever return, but if I did, I'd make sure to stay in the city. It was tough commuting from Brooklyn for everything. I have a bunch of pictures, but don't have them all at work with me, obviously. Anyways, here are a couple: 1st - My family and me at the aquarium 2nd - My best friend and me in Rockefeller Center Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
