Hi there, my family and I are coming to lovely Utah for a vacation. They'll ski; I'll not. Looking for any interesting car-guy stuff to do: shows, dealerships, events, ANYTHING Ferrari of course, but I'm a huge car fan of most any type but Brass Era stuff. Thanks in advance, and I can't wait to see your beautiful state live and in person... you too if that works!

Thanks VERY much. I contacted Steve Harris imports from your lead. Thanks again. Any interesting used car/collector car places? Etypes, 911s, even NSX or other? Just wanting to avoid missing any interesting car spots.

Park City is 60 degrees right now. I am not sure how
good the skiing is going to be. That snow is melting like
crazy, but I think it's going to cool down Sunday through
Wednesday in the state and possibly get some snow
    showers.

Hopefully it snows. I've got a place there and planning on being there next Wed thru tuesday for the last ski vacation. Been a disappointing season compared to last year. There's always flyfishing though!!! Do some exploring if skiing, fishing or car events don't work out, it's great country.

    Have a great trip.

    Jeff,

Where is your favorite to flyfish in that neck of the woods? I ski there often but fish there maybe once every 5+ years. I lost the biggest fish I ever lost in a river fishing a 6x tippet in the provo right across from sundance. I was crossing back toward the railway tracks through the river and nearly stepped on him. I backed off waited and hooked him good. I fought him rose him twice but lost him at the knot. At the end of my line was the classic curlie que...dang!

I know the Provo is one of the main rivers but I believe there
is another blue ribbon trout stream closer to Park City. Google
Park City fly fishing and there is some good info.

You can't do it now because of the snow but I would recommend
you guys fish the Uintahs. There are plenty of little lakes
to fish and it's beautiful scenery.

    Dave

    P.S.

Just watched the news and the weather is supposed to be crappy
all week. Oh well, I enjoyed the 74 degree weather today.

Are there streams in the uintahs? I like scenery and hunting fish in moving water. Strawberry is not bad if you get a hot day with larger fish but it is a featureless hole. But I have had killer days there yanking streamers. I'd rather catch a small fish on a pretty creek with no people around.

Thanks again for the info. I did indeed go by Harris Imports - fabulous showroom, being renovated, great inventory. Visited with Michael Call for at least an hour, even as an admitted "non propsect". Almost tripped over a 512TR in black/black that I'd noticed on their website (consignment car) , but it was in the 'sold' garage as someone else had spotted it and acted already. Oh well.

Next day, told them if that deal fell through to let me know. "Not likely" came the response, "the owner said the deal was done." A few hours later, a surprise...

The deal had caved in. I went to re-look at the car through a buyer's eyes. Full PPI was done previously, engine out service had 218 miles on it (Jan 08) car had a 'cost no object' owner - releathered dash, new Pirelli Rossos, new this and that everywhere it could be needed. They'd buffed the black paint to near perfection. Fired it up, the new Tubi exhaust made it sound better than expected, clutch (new) uptake was excellent, all worked well and smoothly.

I am now the owner. A great memory of my trip to Utah for all concerned.

Thanks for the congrats all. Some pictures at this other thread, courtesy of the fine folks at Harris... http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=237248

I'm glad I could help, especially since you ended up bringing a Ferrari home with you. Harris can send the commission check to the following address....just kidding :) :) :) . Nice buy, I saw the photos on the website, looks very clean.

Man, I am SO itchy to get that car home. Trucker called and said 'today' was the pick up date, with arrival 'optimistically' set for first of next week. I'm sweeping out a space now!

Side Note: Someone in SLC has a TestaRossa luggage set that I'm looking at on ebay - - is that person on here?

I'd also love a red cover for basically ANY mid engined Fcar to go on it. (All the modern ones will fit - 348, 355, 360 etc). So, let me know, I'm still in the romance stage, buying gifts for my new sweetie.

Wow Stackhouse, thanks VERY much. I'll keep that in mind if we get closer on a deal. Very helpful.

I spoke to Mike today, he said a fellow Fchatter had been by. Guess that was you, and sorry we ALL couldn't have been there together! By tomorrow, that car SHOULD be gone... hopefully... I think. Thanks for the compliment on it; hope it looks that nice when it arrives.

I've only had a chance to fish the Middle Provo along with Strawberry River below the dam and Currant Creek(tough access!). Have had good success on Middle Provo only to date, bit too busy though, even on weekdays.

I've head the Unita(sp?) Mountain areas have some great higher alpine lakes and streams, definetly going to check that out along with Green River, upper Provo in the summer/fall. Also the Weber River.

Check out this message board, www.utahonthefly.com. Little hard to get info out of those guys but can provide some info.

    Jeff
