I will traveling to St. Louis July 21-22 for a visit to the Botanical Garden, but what else is there to do, going on, to see that weekend? Any suggestions would be welcome. Interested in Ferrari stuff, museums, gardens (specifically Asian style), good restaurants, hotel near the botanical garden. THANKS

Just outside of St. Louis less than 30-40 minutes from I-270:

Purina Farms in Gray Summit (Agricultural park)

Daniel Boone Home off Hwy F near New Melle, MO (Hwy 40)

Wineries on Hwy 94 south of Hwy 40

Wineries on Hwy 100 between Washington, Mo and Hermann, MO

If you like Thoroughbred Horse Racing go to Fairmount Park Just over in Illinois off I-70/I-270-255.

As far as hotels near the city....I'd stay at any of the downtown hotels Renissance (sp), Sheraton, Hilton, Courtyrard(s), Hampton Inn, union station, etc...

There are a lot of Bed & Breakfasts around too.

Dinner on "The Hill" is a must for Italian food. If you can handle St. Louis Style BBQ (I know how KC people are about BBQ) Go to Super Smokers restaurant in Eureka, Mo off I-44. They are closed on Sundays. I like to eat Bosnian food at GRBIC and Bosna Gold restaurants in South City area. Also Russian food at Zhivagos in Chesterfield/Town & Country. Also very good is Afghani food at Sameems on South Grand in the City. (its really good you gotta try it). If you want to be set back big time $$$$$ but an awesome dining experience try Cafe de France in the city.

    Enjoy!

    Dave

I think I'm going to a race at Gateway that weekend.
