Is there a way to distinguish the real original mirror from a repro? What color was the original glass tint?

The original glass was an untinted rear-surface flat mirror.

I purchased the right side Vitaloni Californian from Pegasus Racing for my 308 as it did not have one and it is idenical, down to the rubber liner that goes between the bodywork and mirror, to the original driver side (except, you know, it's made to go on the right side ;)

I have a pair of Californians from Pegasus as well. They look correct except they don't have the "Californian" sticker as shown here: http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showpost.php?p=140111732&postcount=1

mine came with a pair of stickers so now I have new stickers for the L/R sides.

Of course the plastic on the drivers side is now faded/sun bleached and the mirros do not match color wise. I shoud probably order a new drivers side, then sell the OEM on e-bay for 2x as much!! :)

In regard to the NOS vs Repro Californian, I also noticed that on a Californian mirror shell, a "Vitaloni" stamping into the shell is present on the outboard side. This stamping is rather crude as if done with a hot iron brand of some kind. Is that stamping on both the NOS and Repro?

    Chatters,

I have just bought a pair of these mirrors that are glassy repos and they are fine.

I am not sure what I will do with them as I wish a pair of powered Tornados.

Are the manual and powered Tornados using the same mount in relation to hole spacing etc etc?
