i've always maintained that if it's proven that barry never took steroids of any kind, then i would totally support him and his record, and i would hope that everyone else feels the same way.

The really silly thing about ALL of this is that in the late 90's a TON of guys in MLB were on steroids... but the league turned a blind eye to it because they were desperate for anything to get their attendance and interest back after the strike... they had 3 rough years and the "home run chase" is what finally saved them. Why they are just picking on Barry when there are SO MANY guilty of the same thing really isn't fair. Juiced or not, Bonds is STILL one of the best talents the sport has ever seen, and he always will be. I hope the whole steroids issue goes down in history as a problem of the whole league during that time, and not solely pointing at Bonds.

i think what was going on in the mlb in the 90's was that they hadn't made many performance enhancing drugs illegal. for instance, when people bring up rick ankiel, i always have to remind them that hgh was legal in mlb when he received them, and there is no proof he took them. same thing with mark mcgwire, he displayed what he had openly in his locker, because it was legal at the time, and people were even questioning him during the 98 season.
