From the time I have known Austin, he as talked about designing solfware that would land a general aviation plane in the event of an emergency. Looks like he has done it or is on the way to doing it with his partners in VP. Austin is the tall one.

Also, here are some cool pics of the Mustang he recently flew. I bet there is something like this in the future when he tires of the 370 mph Evolution.

here are a few pix of my test-flight of a citation mustang yesterday... 400 mph at 40,000 ft, hand-flown... yaaaaaah.

almost all hand-flown... almost no autopilot use:

pratt and whitney pw-615: 1,500 lb of thrust!

Juan, we need to stop crossing paths so much! I flew that same Mustang today. All I can say is 'wow'! I also hand flew the vast majority of the time though we only went up to FL 350. :D. I will post pics as soon as I get 'em from my brother who was sitting in the back.

What a coincidence! I just had diner with the Meyers and asked him about the seal near the nose, and he explained that it is simply a graphic package the comes with the plane. He was amazed by how quite the jet was, describing it as like riding on a magic carpet. If you get over to Columbia, you and Austin will have to get together an talk planes over lunch or dinner. He said the Evo should be in soon-it's being tested and will be fitted with the "Auto Lander".
