I'd say one of them didn't want to start anything with the police & just willinglly handed over the tape.
I was wondering this as well. I think it's one of two things: 1. They used probable cause, since somebody reported them to the police. 2. They voluntarily agreed to a search of their vehicle and viewing of the tape out of either intimidation or stupidity or both. If it is #1, then they may have a case in court for an unlawful seizure. I can't just tell the police "hey, that guy over there is doing something wrong!" and then have the police search his home. Just because somebody accuses you of illegal driving doesn't give the police the right to search your car or seize your belongings, whatever they may be. I would bet they allowed the police to search because they thought they would get in trouble. Should have paid more attention in high school American History classes.

What a bunch of losers. Mostly for giving up the video tape. Dick Stevens: 1) For driving with some kind of aftermarket condom for his steering wheel. What is it made of? Velour? Pleather? 2) Driving Chicago style, too far from the steering wheel, seat way too reclined. 3) For getting caught lying on television. 100 mph boy: 1) For driving with arm extended and one hand at the top of the steering wheel. None of these wingnuts have a clue how to drive. How many actually pissed their pants when they were pulled over? Inquiring minds don't want to know.
