I am going to consider the VW R32 as my daily driver. Has anyone had any experience with the car? The reviews have been great... 240Hp V6, 6 speed, all wheel drive, aero kit, dual exhaust, Koenig seats, etc.

I really like the R32 and have heard nothing but good reviews of it. I have been toying with the idea of test driving one soon although I'm not quite in a financial position to purchase one. You might want to check out www.vwvortex.com (I think that's right) as I'm sure there are a number of owners there who can give you first hand experience with the car.

I landed a summer job selling VWs and am familiar with the R32. The whole package works well (engine, chassis, awd, wheel/tire combo) and I couldn't imagine a better long-term daily driver. The styling is subtle, yet discernable to those looking.

The WRX STi is probably its main comptetion. You hardly notice the power difference between the two, and I dislike the rear wing on the STi...too much of a ricer look. The R32 also comes with a stereo...

The R32 shares its AWD system with the Audi TT Quattro. Basically it's a RWD car until electronic sensors detect a break in traction with the front, and then the clutch-plates engage for a nice save.

The 3.2L VR6 engine produces 240 hp, naturally aspirated. The mods available are incredible since the power has been unmolested from the factory. European Car featured an R32 owner who twin-turboed his car to a 0-60 of 3.3. Pretty impressive grip and power from a lil VW hatchback.

As always, go test drive one. Even if you're not extremely interested, I would much rather have someone waste my time driving around in an R32 rather than a Jetta.

After many miles behind the wheel of one, I like it overall but have some serious problems with the overassisted clutch and the low power. The interior and the sound of the exhaust are the highlights.
