How do we not get this here?! This is up there with the best in beauty imo, 458 et al. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
That's the R model. 2.0 litre fsi turbo with 265 bhp. Very nice and quick little car- dsg box is a must have!
luv it, but we don't get it here ...so stupid, as i think they figure it will take away from GTI sales...errr! the race version, with bio-fuels, are cool too Image Unavailable, Please Login
Rented a cup version at n.ring and was very impressed. Vw says it would be too expensive if brought to usa. I dont see why
Because VW has ZERO clue on what the American market REALLY wants ! Otherwise they could sell the carp out of the pickup truck , name change might be a good thought though. http://www.volkswagen-commercial.com.au/au/en/models/Amarok.html
I agree. the Scirocco and that pickup would sell like mad. instead we get re-badged Chrysler minivans and dumbed-down, made for America Passats.
VW must be doing something right. They went from almost falling off the face of the map to being the third(i think) largest carmaker in the world. I wish they'd bring that thing here. Hear lots of talk about problems with VW quality lately though. for that car I'd take the chance.
There was one at the Scottsdale Cars and Coffee shows with. Michigan manufactures plates, looked really good but blended in with the other cars, like another Jetta.
Few possibilities. 1. It was not a Scirocco. 2. It's coming to the US, and a VW employee brought a US prototype to C&C. 3. Someone successfully imported it to the US. 2 doesn't seem so likely. How easy is 3 with contemporary cars, and likely for what's a high-end Golf? I tend to dislike high-volume cars, so if it's possible to import one in a practical way I'd be really interested in it as a dd. The Scirocco R is fantastic, but even the regular one is gorgeous imo. I almost like the regular model in white even more. Just so understated in the way it's beautiful. I love German cars but this looks very un-German (the regular one). Major negative is visibility -small rear window and 2high headrests With passengers rear vision mirror useless Great power delivery but easily break traction
Actually, we'd love to have the US Passat here - it's bigger than ours, and especially it only costs HALF AS MUCH...
$57K+ all decked out. A TON of money for that little car. Configure it yourself. http://www.volkswagen.com/vwcms/international_portal/virtualmaster/en.html Image Unavailable, Please Login
Cars are just expensive there. Base price for a Golf GTI is $40k in the UK(!). Base price of Scirocco GT is $37k. Nonetheless that rules out importing one even if it's possible.
The Golf R will be coming to the USA in 2012.. http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/2012-volkswagen-golf-r-us-spec-first-drive-review
I followed the scirricco R cup in Germany thus year. Great bunch of guys racing them and Vw hospitality was a lot of fun!
