The bloody sky!! We have been in a drought for 10 years but it rained real hard and very, very windy. Luckily the real bad wind and rain was at night. These rallies are fantastic. The cars are GREAT but the people are even better. That's what makes these rallies so special and so much fun even if the weather is crappy. John ( I organised this event)
The McKay is every 2 years and Lowe is every 2 years in ALTERNATING years. So McKay is in even years and Lowe is in odd years, like the organisers who are very odd ! The 2 previous McKays were for front V12s with carbs and the Lowe is for carbed cars with any number of cylinders in any position. This is an absolute rule except for exceptions! So 2010 is the McKay and 2011 will be the Lowe and we will probably do the same thing then if Andy and Penny will let us back inside their beautiful and wonderful home. John
Simon Bring it on the next Lowe. These cars die sitting in garages. They must be driven. I know it is a long way for you but see if you can get a few cars onto a truck and ship them down to Melb. The Lowe is very casual, the cars great but the people are even better. Talk to anyone who attended and they will tell you they had a blast despite the crappy weather, and we do need the rain big time unlike you guys. John
Yep After the weekend, which was wonderful, gut feel is I might sell my 2 cars and buy one V12 older car, maybe a GTC or a Lusso.LHD is not a problem,so will source overseas.
You should do that. They are a great bunch of people and a front V12 is the way to go. Where else would you find such a nice, friendly and interesting bunch of people ?? I hitchiked in a Queen, and Kim and Marie had piles of stuff and room for me and my junk. Now that's REAL GT motoring. People should understand what GT stands for. It's not for hooning around or going just fast, but going fast for a LONG time, over a great distance with heaps of luggage and in comfort. The T stands for touring. Of course you could get one of those common Daytonas. JM has a nice one for sale. John
Na I'm not a Daytona fan, idea would be to get a car that Amanda is happy in,ie touring and in comfort. The Bentley is ideal but the club RROC/Bentley have few good runs,so its a lot of money sitting around doing nothing. People are great at the carb runs, but I also enjoy spending hours in a car driving. Kim is a top bloke, known him off and on for nearly 25 years.
OK so it's a Queen or GTC. Get one from OS so we get fresh cars especially if LHD is not a problem for you. New cars on our scene are always good. John
OK C4 it is, you will not be disappointed. They are fast enough with plenty of boot space and make incrediible noise especially at higher revs. Get a Euro one if you can. If you want one post a request on the C4 owners website (www.365gtc4.com) as well as here. John
Gotta sell a car 1st. ROFL their is a forum! I feel a bit out of place with a non Ferrari and worry that I might be told not to come on the runs!
Thanx for the invite,I try to get them out regularly. The 330 is getting some minor corrosion dealt with, the 365 is wating for a knockoff tool to be made.I,m driving the 330 to T,wmba in Sept.As for shipping I found the best F road in Aussie why waste a good time,if you had an event between Melb and Bris I can direct you.
