Has anybody confirmed that Roland did not infact race at Le Mans?

There are lots of races at "Le Mans" and even in the big event there are lots of drivers and different car levels. I know somebody that had an entry to race at Le Mans that I used to club race with in New Zealand. Unfortunately he had an accident before the event that caused him to loose use of his left arm and he was in hospital at the time of the race, and that sort of killed that ...

While Le Mans at the top level is for good drivers (say the first 10 cars), I would say most of the drivers are simply field fillers with average experience like "Bo Stefan Eriksson". Le Mans has always been that way, in fact most endurance races are like this.

Heck Nick Mason and another member of Pink Floyd have raced at Le Mans and Nick himself, I 'm sure, would not rate himself a Michael Schumacher.

He claimed to be a "Two Time Le Mans Winner". That's a bit different.

"flanked by his two teammates Dietrich Joe Macari and Rob Wilson.'

Remember when he crashed in Malibu and he claimed a "Dietrich" was driving and walked off after the wreck? When a little rattled I guess it was his friends name that first popped into his head.

Yes. The name of the individual who confirmed that to be untrue is Roland Linder.

Whoops, actually the "Dietrich" is crossed out in the Jalopnik story, I guess that is their little joke. It just didn't come through in the cut/paste...

There is no Dietrich Joe Macari. Joe Macari is a Ferrari dealer.
