I just purchased a 1992 Diablo........................Waiting sucks. I should have it at my door next friday.

Here is my problem, I have a two car garage. I own a 1987 Testarossa, a 1990 Lotus Esprit SE, a 2007 Chevy Tahoe, and now a 1992 Diablo.

    Who is staying outside?

I'm waiting for mine as well. Should be by the end of this month.
As you say it really sucks.

Just a guess but I think the Tahoe will be seeing the weather outside your garage?

LOL, yeah I was wondering if those guys were having counting problems; 2 car garage with 4 cars! :)

I'm gonna have to say it sounds like the Lotus gets to take a breather. :) Why not get a storage unit to keep it in? I have the same predicament as you but fortunately one of my cars is a track car so it stays in its trailer. At my new house that I should be in in about a week, I'm putting a four post lift in the garage and will keep the race car on top of the Gallardo (with a big fluid catch pan and car cover on the G just in case). Both cars are not very tall so the ten foot ceiling still allows enough height to do that. My Chevy Avalanche stays out side 24x7.

I dont think I have the clearance to put a lift in, I wish I did.

Tahoe outside, sell the lotus, buy a beater........leave it outside.

If I have a Ferrari and a Lambo, what the hell do I need a Lotus for?

I would be putting the Lotus outside with a dust cover and a water cover over that. They are very neat and very fun cars for the money and hard to duplicate for the coin. But when a nice day shows up and you feel like driving something special, with the Diablo or even the TR, the Lotus will never see the light of day. Just not in the league.

Detour, that's exactly what I'm doing, going to put my Radical SR3 over the Gallardo. Where'd you get your lift? I've been collecting names that came with positive reviews before I make a decision..

Not to hijack, but how do you like the Radical? Do you street it or just track?

    Thanks,

With 100mm of ground clearance, you'd be in some trouble if you try to street it around here. :) I have heard you can register them in Nevada though if you put radials on, get the head light kit, couple other things like a cat exhaust system, etc. I don't have the desire to on mine but even if I did, it would not work because I don't have the front-mounted cooling option which includes electric fans, so my car will overheat if it sits still for more than a few minutes. (found that out the hard way)

Other than that though, it's a seriously awesome 2.5g track car that will let you go through corners at speeds that make you question physics. At Sebring with a 'good' driver, of which I am not, it can do about a 2:10 lap which is only about six seconds off the pace of a $350k Porsche GT3 RSR race car for 1/5th the price. I am doing about 2:28 right now but I've only got 10 track days in the car total, and only three days in my Lambo prior to that, so I have a lot of experience to build up in my quest to go faster. Unfortunately I've had my past two events end early, first one ultimately caused by a defective & deteriorating fuel pickup tube in the fuel cell which clogged the filter and injectors and then the last time out I blew my transmission. :) But, that's the life of motorsports. I'm having that fixed and the engine rebuilt at the same time and should have the engine back early next week and then I can get my next event scheduled. I bought it used so I can't attest to how abused the tranny was before it became mine; at least we have a baseline now.

We talk about Radicals on Talk Lambo constantly since four or five of us over there have Radicals and Lamborghini's and have generally tracked both. Biggest rush ever doing track days, I can't get enough, I just bought a Tony Kart 125cc TAG last week to give me something to drive on weekends I don't have a Radical event. :)

    Hi there,

Why buy a beater...another car? Sell the Lotus and drive the TR and Diablo as everyday cars.

I have a 91 TR and a VT roadster. I drive them to work everyday, pick up groceries and Yes, I drive them in the rain.
I keep them both in concours condition ( as best I can for drivers ) and drive the other when I want to pull one off-line for underside and wheelwell cleaning.

Why...? I've owned all the cars you're talking about and the Lotus is probably the most fun to drive :)

I got it from Complete Hydraulic. They are great to deal with and it is shipped extremely well and fast! I could not be happier with it. You will need a couple friends over to help assemble it. Also, they offer discounts if you are a member of the Lamborghini Club of America.

I agree that the lotus is a fun car, but when I have to make a choice, unfortunatly it would be the lotus.
