    Anyone ever get this?

You go to sleep, and when you wake up some of your muscles hurt like you did a major workout the night before. I woke up this morning and went to sit up and my abs were hurtin' like I did 100 situps the night before. And my hamstrings were hurtin too, as were the muscles in my forearms. I seem to get this every week or so. It always seems to be the same muscles - forearms, calves, abs, hamstrings, triceps, deltoilds, trapezoids. Not always all of them, but for example I never had it in my chest or biceps or quadriceps.

My dad has very slight epilepsy - he sometimes has seizures late at night and only when in a very deep sleep. Is it possible I am having seizures late at night straining these muscles? I sometimes am half awake/half asleep in that phase where you are sort of drifting in and out of consciousness, and I have been awoken suddenly by my leg jerking up and down or my arm will sort of just buck or something.

Or is it totally normal and y'all get it too???

Well, don't you sometimes get something where you'll be sitting there and a place on your arm or neck or face or something will start twitching - like some muscle you couldn't even move if you wanted to, but its having some spasm? I know everyone gets that - so maybe its the same thing on a larger scale? Hell, my dog kicks her paws when she's sleeping - doesn't mean she needs to rush to the ER.

Yes on the involuntary twitches, no on the work out mode soreness. Sometimes my neck will have a crick in it due to the pillow. I don't think your in immediate danger buy it would be nice to know the cause. Perhaps it happens on nites of heavy drinking or some other cause.

    Ask yourself this question......

You wake up in the morning sore as hell, all filthy, torn clothing, you have no idea where you are, no idea where you've been and you've got a used rubber hanging out of your ass......Do you know what you'd do?

    No?

    GOOD! Let's go camping!!! ;)

...not that there's anything wrong with that!

I will check into it some time - honestly I've had it as long as I remember. Its not so much sore muscles like a workout but rather a pulled/overworked muscle. I remember going to the bathroom and I stood up and my calves were all tight/tense and when I pulled the door closed, my forearm just felt all tight like I seriously overworked it at the weight room. I am usually sore for the day but the next day fine. I fell asleep last night around 2am, woke up around 4 to go to the bathroom and thought I'd sit up and check if a lot of snow had come, and it was sore then - so its not something that takes the whole night to happen.

Don't think its a drinking issue - I rarely drink, maybe once a month and not heavily. I will have to keep a diary - maybe its something I am eating or its due to stress or something (although last night was Sat. and I am never stressed on weekends). I thought it might be slight seizures in the night causing the muscles to flex and tighten, which would feel like a major workout the next morning. Maybe I will steal some dilantin from my father and see if it helps :)

I feel the same way many times.
I know the frequency increases on nights of which I have less sleep than normal (one or two hours of sleep).

u have to check if u played any games lately. some people take longer time to actually recover. my advice? get a protein powder, mix it with some milk and take it 3 times a day. or even a protein bar will do. but if it doesn;t go off after 5-7 days, u better go and check it out.

It sounds like you were abducted by aliens...many, many times. Talk to Art Bell or John Guthrie about how to ward them off.

Wow...that triggered an odd memory that was sitting in my mind. I was having a dream where my wife had done/said something that REALLY infuriated me...in my dream I was yelling and going nuts on her. As I lay there having this dream sequence my wife actually woke me up cause she said I looked like I was having a violent episode...little did she know. But getting woken-up by the person you are engaging in your dream is downright freaky.

Oh man did I just leave myself open with that post....

Anyways....I'd suggest taking some good multi-vitamins, especially something with some MSM and Potasium, your soreness may in part be due to some deficiency. Beyond that, a visit to the doctor may be in order. You'll have to determine if it's due to muscle fatigue from actual contractions/use...or something more internal with your physiology. Gotta be one or the other.

Just in case, cover your bets by taking some ink and marking on your forehead: PLEASE DO NOT ABDUCT :)
