Walter Mitty Italian Car Corral ??

When is the Mitty event? I went back in 91, wow! So many exotics. Even an F40.

 

There will definately be an Italian Car Coral. John Montgomery (Atlanta FLU - AKA Atlanta Italian Car Day Meastro) is working with sponsorship with Grassroots Motorsports magazine and Vinny (AKA Giovanis) for catering. We're getting some mor people involved as well. As soon as Charles gets back from Augusta, he'll be working with John as well to co-ordinate the FCA end of the equation. More details as they're set in stone.. watch this space...

At this point I think no help is really required other than just showing up.
Vinny is taking care of the food and the designated area will be marked. Self parking. No muss, no fuss.

guys, not sure if John Montgomery is coming to this weekends Giovanni event or not but if you wish, I have 1000 Walter Mitty event posters that I can hand out to people . I am representing the British side of the arena and John is reprsenting the Italian side. John probably received 1000 event posters too so if he doesnt come, I will bing some to give out to you guys if you want some.

I will have some at Giovanni's.

I see the event is taking place starting on Wednesday and going through Sunday. Any opinions on which day would be the best to see the most F-cars and other exotics out there? I will make the trip from Savannah for this one!

 

I think the consensus is, if you only want to come one day, Saturday is the best choice.

 

unfortunately, Thursday is for team testing only. but, Dream Car garage and Sportscar revolution will be there on Thursday doing some filming on a sports car for their show Sportscar Revolution. Tom will be driving a sports car for the show.

best day to go is always Saturday.

My cousin and I are thinking of bringing our cars down to Mitty. Is there an update as to where the Ferrari contingent will be hanging-out?

 

Don't worry, you can't miss it, when you enter and go up the hill, turn left to go over the bridge, and the Italian section will be a little further on the left. I look forward to seeing those 512TR wheels!!

The Mitty is the best 4 days of the year.

 

Consensus seems to be that Saturday is the best. A number of participants will leave before Sunday's racing, and the weather forecast for Saturday is better (at present). Also, I believe the cars in the corrals will be able to do laps of the track at some time on Saturday.

 

I'll be down there this year, look for the big 20'x20' Michelin tent and ask for jerry.

 

I'll be there Fri-Sun.

If anyone here is a Fiat 850 Spider fan (for whatever reason) You will need to stop by and see ours - in Pebble Beach Concours condition. It is absolutely amazing to see one like it now 33 years later. Especially since most of them have rusted to dust.

 

How early each day will there be someone around to direct traffic into the various corrals? With racing beginning at 8:00, I expect to be there before then.

 

TC--I may be up there early Sat--all depends on wether my new car is ready for pickup--bought an E55-AMG
