On my way to the paint shop to pick up the pieces. Will update pics as everything is reinstalled and beer is consumed. Let the drama unfold.
1.) So that you may laugh at me 2.) Nude. 3.) Battery tray was sturdy as a rock but rusty, too. 4.) Fresh-er. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
That was a before. I went to pick it up and was dissatisfied with the paint. $#%@^*&#^&$^*&($&#(@*)&#($*)!!!!!!!!!
I thought this was nearly finished weeks ago? What happened? (Sorry if I am mistaken) Battery area looks good to me.
The fiberglass and metal were repaired, and I was waiting on it all to be sprayed. That, apparently, took longer than expected. And now, it's gonna take even longer! It is not a full respray. Just the front bumper, driver's side door rake, kick panel and rear quarter (Pinifarina panel). The panel's pinstripe was removed and the spray line was placed beneath it.
Okay. She's back in the garage... Thank God! working on the bumper at the moment. PS - I'm pissed that they oversprayed the black... WTF?! Fear not. I'll be doing it properly. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Are you going to paint behind the grill or use a sticker? Reason I ask is mine has a few stone chips in the black paint behind the grill (OEM) and I have often thought of using a thick black sticker in this area to prevent this from happening again.
I thought of that also, might be a good idea if we can find one that is smooth enough while tuff enough to resist stone chips without peeling. What had you planned on using?
I haven't decided just yet. Like you said... it needs to be relatively smooth and resilient in order to take a good cleaning and rocks, on occasion. Any suggestions? Anyone?
In about an hour, the wrenches start turning and the picture will be flowing. Such a beautiful day for it!
Cool man, post pics along the way, if you are not too intoxicated. I wish I was there sucking back beers with ya.
I'm sorry that I didn't post a lot of pics... Just wanted to get it done! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I just wanted to drive it I'm going to try the rubberized coating and see what happens. I'll be a guinea pig of sorts!
