    Dial 1-888-5OPTOUT. It takes a couple of minutes with an automated system. Your SS# will be blocked for two years from Experience, Trans Union, Equifax and Novus. Your name is removed from all four of these companies that sell you name and address to credit card companies.

    ...and then sold BY THEM to 100+ list brokers who sell them to the CC companies! These things don't work ... I know! :(

    As part of my duties I run an Identity Theft insurance product and this telephone number DOES work.

    Check out http://www.consumer.gov/idtheft/ for some info and tips. Also, www.privacyrights.org.

    Good stuff.

    I did all I could and I NEVER get any more unsolicited credit card offers.

    Of course, I am really paranoid now...
