    Hi

Can anyone tell me what the ID and length of the original Mondial springs are.

If they are 2.50 or 2.25 ID I could replace them with Eibach ERS ones, it would just then be a matter of getting the right length ones so they lower the car but are tight inbetween the spring perches, Oh ! and what lbs for front and rear.

    Can anybody one help.

I to would like the answer to this question, I think the mondial uses 2-1/2"coil springs and a spring rates of (lbs/in) are 150F and 225R, the length would depend on how low you want to drop the car. I myself would like to drop the car 1-3/4F and 1-1/2R; I hope that’s not too low. I guess what formula we would use to know the different lengths of coil springs to how much it will lower the car.

Or, you can just put four big guys in your mondial and drive around - that'll lower her by a good inch or so........

One advantage of my Mondial QV over my 308GTB is that it CAN clear speed bumps!

Don't lower anything unless your roads are glass smooth. My 328 would not clear speed bumps or any bumps for that matter. I only have 3" to the ground from the lowest point.

3-5/8" from the rear of the deep chin spoiler (lowest point, under axle) to the road with properly inflated tires. '79 308GTB

I lowered my mondial a couple yrs back, ended up doing a custom install with nicks coil-overs. the spring rate up front is suprisingly 481.33lb/in and 650lb/in rear!!
I was a bit shocked to, but the WSM and the spring mfg. double checked the specs.

I'm about 3" off the ground all around with the fronts at 600lbs and the rear at 1000lbs. rides nice and stiff but not bad. the first set of springs were 200lb/in and the car wallowed bad and was unsafe! that's when I went back to the WSM and had the mfg double check the specs so that it would be right.

the WSM specs the static load at 440daN front and 458.5daN rear dividing the static load by the deflection and converting over to imperial units gets the numbers above.

there's pics floating around here of my setup and the work involved. someday I'll make more plates only this time with spherical bearings.
