Possible part trade with an Alpine Renault. herve.dykmans@skynet.be
Tough car to get just so, isn't it? Just be glad it's not an 1150 SS you're after, though. I'm guessing you've already seen this one, sans engine http://www.finecars.cc/en/detail/car/2169/index.html?no_cache=1&cHash=51c5485321 Are you on here? http://forum.abarth-gmr.be/
No fair offering a trade without posting a picture of the Renault Alpine! Fascinating cars in my opinion!

While I suppose a 2 liter car could be fitted with a 1300cc engine for that racing class, the car shown is probably a 2000, as that's what the later ducktail cars were. The 1300s were mostly round-tails. Some round-tails were fitted with a ducktail engine cover, but the fenders didn't match up to it well. If you're interested in a Simca Abarth you'll need to contact one of the few people who would know which owners of these rare cars might possibly be willing to sell. Go to scuderiatopolino.com and write the proprietor, Paul Van der Heijden. He knows EVERYONE in the Abarth world. Did you see the video I posted of SpaItalia 2006 on youtube? It has some nice shots of Simca and Fiat Abarths: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6qhT1DXS-xI I recently visited the Aumueller and Moell collections and am posting video of those too. Also, video I posted of the Silver Flag hillclimb has these cars in action. Search under the Pantdino user name in youtube.
Yes, Wetpet, like the one on the picture. I suppose it is not for sale though...Here are pictures of the Alpine... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

My bad-- it was the Fiat Abarth 1000's that had ducktail lids on roundtail bodies. And Englebert Moell has a 1300 ducktail in his collection, so I guess they weren't as rare as I thought. I'm going to guess the first mystery car is the ex-Merkel Weiss "last series" Fiat Abarth 1000 bialbero. I could go check the few photos I have of that car, but that would be cheating. The second is a 1300 OT "periscopio"-- if you go to my videos of the Silver Flag hillclimb on youtube you'll see one going like a bat out of hell---very fast cars. Awesome collection! I'm totally jealous! Jim
one of the nicest 1300's was les burd's [finished in baby blue] in calif...i'm not sure where it is now....when i had my 1300ot all the engine compartment was finished in matte black...come to think of it, i think all my abarths were as well...
