    I have an 84 380SL.
    Gets driven maybe 1-1.5K per year.
    It has the worst radio in the world. A total of 2 speakers; my 15 year old clock radio better sound.
    But, I like the "original look".
    I'd like a music player of some sort, but I don't want to install it, worry about it getting stolen, etc.

    I thought about a portable Sirius/XM radio (I have Sirius in my DD), but what about the speakers? Is there a good portable system with great sound (I'm a huge music nut)? I rent cars about twice a month for business travel, so the portable Sirius would be nice.

    But, I need great speakers!

    So, if you're not looking at replacing your OEM radio and speakers, what I would probably recommend is buying an appropriate DC to AC power inverter (the car has a cigarette lighter, right?) with the appropriate wattage + some nice computer speakers and just lay them in the front passenger seat connected to your Sirius or iPod/iPhone or whatever.

    Not sure if you wanted to go through with this route
