One of my units in my '83 Mondial is defective and not repairable. I prefer a good unit, but will consider a bad one, i.e. a good core, if it can be repaired. The Marelli Part Number is MED805A. Any help will be greatly appreciated. The car was running soooo well when I took it out of storage about a month ago!

I'm converting my car to Nick's Electromotive setup so both my boxes are available. I'm not sure of the part number but I'll be over at my shop this evening and will look at them to see if they match.

Anyone have an idea of a FAIR price on the Digiplex boxes these days.

Check EBAY - there is usually someone on there who repairs Digiplex's and provides a warranty

Thanks to all for the info, but I already sent the unit out to the ecudoctors.com in Florida. They do excellent repair work, however, my unit has a bad chip that controls the retard/advance characteristic. It is a custom proprietary chip and the one part that is not available to them or anyone else for that matter.

sheldon: i had big trouble from one of my digiplexes and gave up and installed the electromotive unit. althugh it's fairly crude (4 breakpoints in the advance curve set by potentiometers on the front panel) the ability to give the engine (1981 2v) a lot more advance than the marelli units gave a noticeable improvement in horsepower. the cost of new replacement digiplexes and the age of that technology makes replacement with a direct fire, no rotor system worth it. jon s

    Jon:
Do you happen to know what the Electromotive Conversion Kit costs for the 308 QV?

    Sheldon,

Sorry, I didn't make it over to my shop as intended the other night.
I am here tonight and unfortunately, my boxes are MED 801 A.

Thanks Rick for checking. ECU Doctors (Jose at 305-989-0724) were able to locate an 805A unit that they overhauled, bench tested, and even tested on a 308QV. My unit was not repairable. They advertise on eBay and offer a 5-year Warranty. I received the unit today so my car will be back on the road this weekend.
