    Hi,

    I'm feeling stuck !

I am finally ready to begin the journey into purchasing a Ferrari, but the first step I need to resolve is safe, accessible long term storage for the car, I live in the floating home community ( Portage Bay) in Seattle , thus no personal garage or safe parking.
I have looked online and into local name brand storage facilities etc and for a variety of reasons they are not quite what I am hoping for as long term storage. I have had no luck with finding neighborhood garage rentals to date. I am realistic on the storage costs thus not the issue.

I am interested in any feed back or resources folks may have experienced or are using in our area. Not necessarily looking for garage / shop to work on car, can be just for storage. If not single space would like to find something where others keep there classic cars.
I go back and forth on how far away from home I am willing to go, logically would like to be 10 to 20 minutes from my home.

    Thank you ,
    Thomas

Other then parking your car, is there any other need for space? Storage? Work shop?

Ferrari of Seattle provides storage space with tethering etc. Don't remember the monthly price but it was not outrageous and at least you know it is secure with the other 50+ Fcars in storage.

Hi , Thanks for the responses !

I would be open to a work shop type space as would give me the option to tinker on the car or do some simple tasks, but the main priority would be just to store the car with access for use. I don't have plans to restore a car.
I want to find a well maintained car and will outsource the service work etc.

Thanks for the tip on FOS I will contact them. Curious as to what tethering is ?

    Thanks,
    Thomas

I might be using the wrong word but it is a trickle charger that keeps the battery full. I am a computer geek so tether jumped into my head :)

Depending if you could find it, it might be worth looking at smaller warehouse/office space rental. This would give enough space to do everything you want. Just a matter of finding something in a reasonable price range.

There is a place in Redmond that advertises in the Porsche Club monthly mag, Spiel. This is all the info from the add: 9121 151st Ave NE, $175/mo, includes detailing equip., space for tires, hydralic lift, air compressor, and hand tools. Bob Rygg, 206-498-0273 or Pete Juvet, 206-947-9948.

Thanks for the continued responses !

Interesting on the Redmond location, I will go check it out and also FOS in person.
FOS is within 10 minutes of my home :) . Wonder about access hours though.

I have been checking into off the beaten path warehouse / shop type spaces in the area vs out of city limits and the rent has been high enough that unless running a business it makes me take pause.
I have car friends in my neighborhood who all have interest in space, but so far the group is still small enough that rent even split is still out of the comfort zone of most in the group.

Day dreamed about buying a building and renting out space to fellow car people and have actually viewed some for sale and so far the numbers have not quite matched the idea yet. I plan to keep casually looking. My wife just glares at me when I speak of my idea ! :)

    Thanks,
    Thomas

As many people in Seattle proper who live either on the water or in condos or apartments with limited secure garage space (meaning closed and locked space for individual cars, it seems that there is a need for either a condo style enthusiast garage setup or condo/rental setup with garages of various sizes to fit personal needs. Secure entry into the building/complex and a secure garage inside for one's enthusiast vehicle.
