    Can anybody out there recommend some easy-to-use, photo-editing software that I can download (for free ;)) that will allow jpegs to be rotated in 1 deg increments? TIA.

    +1 on GIMP, poor mans photoshop.

    You can also get a trial for Lightroom which is the best of the best for editing photos!

    I used to use Piknik, which I noticed degraded the quality of the image if I even cropped it a little. It's very easy to use.

    Plus there are GIMP versions for most common platforms(mac, windoze,etc)

    cool. to do what you want. use the select tool, then right click - layer - transform - arbitrary rotation...

    :D

    Photoshop is the photo editing software,this is the best software to edit or re size any photo.

    I respectfully disagree.

    I'm not a guru with either Photoshop or The Gimp, but understand the latter is at least as "powerful" and "rich" as the former (?) And it's free. And it runs on everything.

    Why would I buy PS? [I'm not trying to be a smartass here btw, I'm just interested.]

    EDIT; Further, the OP specifically asked about 1deg rotations - I'm sure PS can also do it, but it ain't cheap!
