Wow!!! What a great event!!! The heavy rains this morning probably scared a lot of people. But I checked the Radar and saw that the rain was going to stop by 10:00 AM, so I decided to make this trek. It was great to see some old friends and of course making new ones! :)

Once the rain stopped, it was a great photo op for Warbirds and Ferrari's. We had about 12 cars show and there were some nice aircraft on display as well as memorabilia from World War II.

Thanks to Ron Johnston for organizing the event and a very special "Thank You" to the folks at the National Capitol Squadron (see 2nd photo) for having us at their facility.

These are just (2) teaser photos, I'll post more later after I finish processing them. But I'm sure others will post some of their pictures as well.

    Enjoy,

    Bill

Great pictures Bill. Do you happen to know the color of the blue 360, looks too bright to be TDF?

It is NART Blue. A rare color, I think.

For a while, we had my tdf blue 550 parked next to it and we were discussing the differences in the shades of blue.
NART Blue and Blue Sera are both interesting colors to consider if you're looking for a medium shade of blue that looks great.
Here is a pic of the 360 & 550 side by side.

    Joe, great pictures!

And I really like the 4th one from the bottom (my blue 550 in front of the T-6 Texan).

Love planes, as my father was a marine fighter pilot. Really wanted to attend, but was working yesterday. Nice pics with JB, Nate, Toggie and wife, Curtis and even Al! Looks like a fun day!

Thanks for sharing the pics! By the way great looking F430, love the yellow calipers!

I'd like to thank the Ferrari owners that came to the event.

In order to get there by 9 a.m., most of the attendees left their homes around 7 a.m.
At 7 a.m., it was raining cats & dogs, so for each of them to say "what the heck, I'm going to drive my Ferrari there anyways" was a commendable thing to do.

Around 11 a.m. the skies started to clear and we had scattered clouds and sunshine for the rest of the day.
But at 7 a.m., most of the owners didn't know that.

When we left the Williamsburg area it was not raining. But, pretty soon it was. We got into some serious rain coming up I95 and on Rt 3. The cars are not made out of sugar; they won't dissolve in the rain. And I may have the only 328 GTS out there that doesn't leak (or, more accurately, on this trip, it didn't leak).

Great pictures. Sorry that I missed this event.

Here's a beautiful NART Blue 360CS that just came up on ebay. Beautiful color!

We all sort of understand that when someone mentions "Ferrari" around non-Ferrari owners, they immediately think "RED!"

I don't recall that I have ever seen an ugly Ferrari, but I have noticed that blue ones are usually stunningly beautiful.

We had a great time at this event. Great seeing old friends and making new ones. Thanks to Ron and the NCS for putting together a very nice time. We need to do it again next year - with a couple extras!

I can not top Bill's pics but I will post a few of my own highlighting a special moment. A beautiful 1942 Waco was there. When they offered up rides in that we jumped at the chance. What a great time! And the pilot, John "Handlebar" Corradi, was exceptional - making sure we were comfortable and had a great time. The Wingovers were the best! He offers several different option for sightseeing flight based out of Culpepper airport. I imagine the fall flights through the valleys are spectacular! He even offers acrobatic ride alongs! All at very reasonable pricing. His web site is blueridgebiplanes.com (no affiliation)

    1. The Waco's office
    2. Just a couple stylin folks
    3. View from one of several wingovers - Wahoo!
    4. My new wallpaper - note the matching leather in both vehicles!

Yeah that NART Blue 360 was absolutely beautiful.

Ron, thanks again for organizing this event and making it happen. You did a great job! And thanks to Kathy for suggesting that I bring my In-Law to this event. They had a great time!

This was the FCA's first event with the NCS and I really hope we do this again next year. The NCS are great bunch of people!! And they made us feel right at home. They have an Open House on the 2nd Saturday of every month. So if anyone is ever looking for something to do you might want to consider visiting the NCS.

They could really use your support to help them restore and maintain their craft!
