Hello, i am wondering about a missing O-ring. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Put one in: Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login A few of you rebuild or opened the WUR. Is my O-ring really missing or do you have the same ? All put back and the 308 GTSi 1981 US is running. No gas or other measurement done yet. Paul
I recently rebuilt one of these double diaphragm WURs and found the O-ring missing as well. I ended up rebuilding the unit with the O-ring. I have no idea if the unit had been opened before, however, I found the threads had sealant on them. Bottom line, I believe you either need the O-ring or something to seal the threads otherwise I suspect you will have challenges achieving the pressure adjustment (increase) when vacuum is applied to the lower port.
Thank you SeattleM5. You decide same way. I have the car nearly 30 years. I dont know if the WUR was opened before. But exactly the same part is missing after a rebuild ? In my case only here was thread locker/sealant: Image Unavailable, Please Login Paul
Hi, no measurement done (pressure, gas analysis,..). The idle revs increased a little bit, so i turn it down. I did not change the WUR to an adjustable WUR. But there is an unexpected positive effect in the first 3 Minutes after starting the motor. The response to throttle has changed. It is better. So i have to use less throttle with cold motor. Needs to be verified. Paul
Hi, after that i put new O-Rings to the pressure regulator. Drove again. All good.... Then i opened the CIS (i hope that is the right word for "Mengenteiler") because i had sometimes high revs that did not go down to idle rev. Since many years my supposition was a hanging piston in the CIS. Did something that is not needed, not allowed, not recomended: Sandpaper 800 and 1200. Now it works fine: Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login After a problematic start and a bad first drive it works now. Adjusted the mixture many times today. Paul
Hi, now i think it is finished. All the important things for me work well like idling, acceleration and behaviour when quick release of gas pedal. Additionally i have looked to the spark plugs to adjust the mixture, not to CO. My CO measurements are too high and not accurate i think. It is a cheap Gunson CO-tester that doesn´t measure directly. It is adjusted in the fresh air to 2% and then starts measurement. If the revs should hang again i will let you know. I am 99% sure that it will not happen. Paul
Hi, nothing was damaged in the WUR and in the fuel distributor. It was only an O-Ring and a little problem with the piston. All diaphragms are changed but they had no problems before. The motor never run as good as now. I do not need to understand everything. By the way: I had assembled the fuel distributor upside down: Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Paul
Hi, the piston in the fuel distributor works fine now. Revs go down normally every time. ...no oil leaks...nothing...is that still a Ferrari ? Paul
