After driving 70 miles this morning my dad's F430 developed two problems. 1. Where the time display usually is, a picture of a car appeared with arrows pointing to the wheels and there is a considerable drop in power. Turning off the engine and then back on solves it until it happens again! Pushing the throttle into the floor tends to make it happen! 2. Engine control system malfunctioning! light next to parking brake. Graypool turned it off and said it was a problem with a potentiometer on the accelerator pedal. Any ideas?
I know how owners seem to hate reading the manual (!) so FYI the light in 1 is 'Suspension system : While driving, it indicates a malfunction in the suspension system.' Aside from that does the car live on a charger or not - if the latter is it possible you'd not driven it for a couple of weeks and the battery was low ? benjy, this EXACTLY has been happening with my 430. happens after driving about 15-30 minutes and the car half shuts off - feels like it's stuck in mud - obviously the computer. read my thread on it, it seems it has happened to a few other 430 owners....
