That's worth an extra £10,000 in depreciation I reckon.

That's a fire risk, which means you'll have to notify your insurance company who will raise the premium.

Reckon that's worth at least £5,000 in depreciation.

Alas I'm never likely to have to worry about this problem, (sadly due to not owning any Ferrari let alone a CS), however living in the UK, we did have some pretty cold , well below freezing nights this week, but I think I'd be a bit peeved if I couldn't take my £'000s worth of car out to play because it was too cold for the ECU.

As cold as it's been this week, it's probably nothing compared to countries that are cold the whole year round, does no one buys CS's in Switzerland, Finland etc ?

I'm curious if it's something you get warned about when buying a CS (does it only affect CS's , or any Ferrari with a ECU?)

its all a load of SteveF rubbish, the car just needed a replacement throttle valve - thats all. I guess the day SteveF actually owns a strad, he'll then be doing his best to talk up the values

tommo these are your words not mine

Over the past few weeks I haven't had chance to drive my CS too much. What with the weather and work, the car has sat in the garage just waiting to be driven

I started the car yesterday (after watching Top Gear and dreaming about driving the Strad on the M4 well Cote d'Azur for 80 miles with shades and 28 degrees) only to get a low bark with the valves definately shut

Switched off the engine, opened the bonnet and shut off the power for 10 mins, restarted her and let her idle for 20 mins, then took her for a spin

Engine light flashing - lacking power, i barely hit a decent speed, and with 75 more miles to go, turned her around to go home then the SLOW DOWN light statred flashing

got her back smelling of fuel - I'm advised by Hazy that my ECU needs to be reset as they don't take too kindly to cold weather

the fact that I haven't driven her much and the temperature has dropped now means I've got to talk get me poor little fcar fixed - anyone else getting the cold weather blues?

she's in a heated garage, but tbh, she's been a bit tempermental recently - ie, having to keep resetting her - but I did turn the heating down as the bill was outrageous!

Lambda sensors cause the issues apparently - just another headache

they are, but after taking the car to the dealer for assessment, the result was not 'ecu - reflashing etc' it was a throttle valve failure - ie replacement part & labour

the cars always run well in cold weather - after all, she's been to Davos & Stelvio etc in sub zero temps, just that on this occassion, the symptoms looked like a re-flash, but the problem has resulted in a change of a small part
