Last month I was offered a 246 gt in exchange for my 3500.

    It was tempting at first.
We where both talking about the prices of each other cars.
    200k was mentioned allot.

However the 246 gt was really worth 160k at best with at least 75k in needed restoration.

I decide to pass on the deal it was simply not met to be.
Beside I am already pretty involved in my new Fiat dino spider 2400.

Good for you for realizing that a Maserati is a much better car than the F-car ;-)

And WOW for a beautiful 3500! How many years did it take you to bring it to that level of restoration?

Wow, Great Car, and great colors!
I'm wondering if you are happy with the filtration that your intake stacks receive from those screened covers?
    Thanks, RF.

The car took me nearly 1 year to bring it to what it is now.

The leather is still period and that will be my last thing on my list. I also love the color combo. That metal blue, " celestial blue " is really nice. One can really see all the curves. The paint has some hair line cracks due to age and " UV "...

I have polished them to a point that they are now acceptable and part of the car.

I have no plan in re painting this car anytime soon, that is the next level that I am not ready to entertain.

The offer that presented to me was not Euro's but in Dollars. Initially the offer sounded interesting. But, the devil is in the details, that Dino needed a complete engine overall.
Also needed body work and new interior. In other words a complete restoration for a nice complete 100% working Maserati 3500.
    Sorry, NOT FEELING IT!

The carbs screen covers work very good, there are 3 layers of mesh on each stack. Plus I put a little K&N oil.

A lovely car to look and drive, its really a nice rare complete un molested car.

    Olivier,

    Your 3500 is very nice.

Great colors, and shows really well!

I'd would be hard to let your 3500 GT go for a Dino, but I would be tempted if the Dino added up.

    Maybe Dino and $$$??

Maserati 3500 GT values are going up, I'll bet in a few years I'll be you'll be glad you kept the Maserati!

    Hey Trev

I agree with you that a dino is a very nice car. The shapes are attractive.
The engine is no small task if it needs a total rebuilt.
I am in the middle of rebuilt on my latest acquisition of a fiat dino spider 2400, same engine.

The biggest concern that I have with swapping my car for a ferrari dino are.

The Ferrari dino has skyrocket over the past few years and personally think they have peaked.
There are about 12 for sale every month and they are not moving.
Half million dollars for a chair and flair and 400k for gts and 300k gt.
to me that sounds like a bubble.

The Maserati 3500 is actually very rare. The Maserati history is all a out racing
I can't think of an other Italian alloy car from 60's other than the lancia flaminia convertible.
All alloy car from the 60's with a awesome engine with tremendous looks, now that is hard to find.

If any one can find a good example of a 3500 gt or gti for 200k that is all matching running car.
He or she better jump on it.

In my opinion these 3500 will climb with time and reach the 350k
These cars are simply over looked and are starting to gain traction as we speak.

Hi Olivier, my wife and I enjoyed looking at the pictures and videos of your 3500. You have really done a great job cleaning it up. I can tell you spent lots of quality time underneath it. The color combination is really stunning. It looks like a keeper to me.
