They look nothing alike to me.

However, it looks exactly like the Mille Chili car to me:

P4/5 was designed to look as a Ferrari should.

    So was 458.

    Beyond this... ?

Umm..I'm sorry, when did I say anything of that sort? I just posted something from the words of Napolis, nothing even hinting towards yourself. Congrats on being involved, but I think you misread my post. :)

I heard a rumour that inspiration came from the Chrysler TC by Maserati, but I could be wrong. ;) LOL

    ...and the P 4/5 design inspired by 1966 330 P3. There is a stronger resemblance between the P 4/5 and the 330 P3, then between the 458 and the P 4/5.

The P 4/5 is a beautiful modern interpretation of an old design, but it does not break any new grounds in terms of design direction.

You think the 458 looks exactly like the Enzo?

The Milli concept only "wears" Enzo's parts but its dimensions are very different. If you see them side by side in profile they're two totally different sizes. To put it simply, it's a shrunk Enzo.

But look past the Enzo parts and he's right, I agree that the 458's profile looks exactly like the Milli underneath.

    not this again

this is nearly like a polarized political discussion between right and left wing, with each side not comprehending how the other side is seeing it that way.

I frankly don't see how this whole P4/P5 thing got started. The 458 looks nothing like that car. And with more pics of it in the real world, even less than that. Resemblance is virtually zero.

If anything the 458 is more akin to the 360/430 and Enzo, with even possibly hints of 246 Dino, in inspiration, while being it's own thing apart from them. It's a modern-inspired Ferrari, not a retro homage.

    I agree with you, mostly.

Recent Ferrari supercars have been underwhelming IMO.

The F50 looks like a kit car, the Enzo looks like anything but a Ferrari, the P4/5 looks like a toy of a Ferrari...but it is a commissioned car of course.

The side view of the 458 reminds me of the Enzo.....other than that it is it's own car design. I see no P4/5 in the 458, not one bit.

For me there is a more interesting question than were did the idea for the 458 design come from:> Who was the PERSON who created the basic exterior design of the 458?
In the past Ferrari often shared images (drawings) from the design process as it evolved from a concept to the finished car. That would certainly show where some of the design influences came from...
