I have been meaning to ask this for a while. Pictures below show an item I found in my Dino. It looks old and looked like a wax canister but when opened I found it contained spare lights and fuses. Was this a Ferrari item that came with the car or just an accessory that a prior owner purchased years ago. I can find no writing or identification on the plastic container. Thanks for any help.

Hello Edward, this is a spare lightbulb and fuse box that usually came as part of the tool kit. Manufacturers were many, but cannot assert the brand.
Regardless, it is a nice item to have for your tool kit to be complete

I am not a Dino authority but I do not believe those came with Dinos. That looks to me more like a late 70's to early 90s version of the bulb and fuse holder common to the entire product line. For the later cars in that time period they stuffed a piece of gray foam in it and stuck the ATO fuses in the foam.

The 246 did not come with bulb holder kits like this.

Lately I've been doing a lot of research on tool kits.

This is a tool kit from a Fiat 2300 S Coupè. Very similar. I think they used whoever was cheaper. Bottom line, hard to tell where it came from.

In case anyone is wondering, this is a Fiat Dino Spider tool kit with knock off hammer. I have one on the way coming shortly. Hard to find. Lots of "misinformation".

The colored plastic bulb holders began appearing in the 308 GT4 Parts Books. However, I have seen a few bulb holders in hard black rubber with early 275 toolkits .

I remember 330 GTS had a black rubber one with a very round top.

Bulb holders were for sale in every gas station, and 'unbranded' spare parts stores throughout Italy.
Momo wheels, steering and road, Fiamm horns, keychains, St. Christopher, toy cars, and the inevitable espresso at every Motta Grill.
Stopping at a gas station, was a family affair.

Whether part or not of a toolkit, everyone, from a 500 to a Daytona would carry one. Only logical.
After all, a pretty good idea. The Safety triangles were available as, "A law" requirement.

Traveling through Italy in the day, was a risky business. Tow trucks? Right. More ropes...

The easiest aspects, were tyres and the "carburatorista" in a any town, big or small.

    Regards, Alberto

Yes Ed, absolutely. Red, Yellow, Blue, etc. I must have bought a dozen of them when were at Modern Classic Motors in Reno in 1975.

Many years back, I raided my mother's garage, found a bunch of triangles.
All sitting back home now :)
