The windscreen washer light is on again on my Mondial 3.2
I had figured out that the float had rusted and disappeared years ago
So i pushed the element part up to meet the top and hey the light went out
Now the lights on again and pushing the element part up and securing it doesn't work anymore
I'm sure there's a way of wiring it up some how
Anyone any ideas I'm sure I'm not the first

What car (your profile doesn't say...)?

On the Mondial you can unplug the sensor at the bottle and use a small piece of wire to bridge the connection, which turns off the light. Not sure about other cars...

If you have a Mondial and this doesn't make sense let me know and I can post photos.

if direct plugging as previously described doesn't work, it is probably the negative connection going to the washer motor and then to the ground that isn't grounding correctly.

I just realized that I'm an idiot. I reread the original post and saw that the car is a Mondial. The poster did not, however, note the color of his car. ;)

I can post photos of how to jumper the connector if you would like.

How about just repairing it properly instead of a kluge?

On my car, the ground connection at the washer bottle coming form the level sender and going to the ground and was corroded and set of the light occasionally. Fixing that connection issue resolved it all.

I was thinking the same as CliffBeer.

Why not repair it instead of shorting out the sender? I'm guessing that the parts are expensive/not available/only available with a new washer bottle etc but you could get a replacement float and use some stainless steel rod to make a new arm.
I had to do this more than once on vintage cars, where the parts supply generally dried up before World War Two. This was generally on fuel tank senders but it's a similar system (but with just a switch on the washer bottle instead of the rheostat fitted to fuel tanks so actually much easier to do, and safer as you are only dealing with a tank of water and not fuel)

    Ha very good 350Mondial
Yes i would like to fix this prob properly, but in order to do so i need to figure out why the sensor stopped working when the two components where touching.
When i figure that out i will work on the rod and float.
Gonna try cleaning conecters earth etc
I did order and buy a used sensor off Euro spares, after explaining to them what the problem was with mine, it arrived with the rod and float missing just like the one i have.
So i returned it and got a full refund.

Yes, I see what you are saying. I guess that the problem could extend into literally days of time, just for the screen washer warning light.

I've got a problem on my Mondial t, the "screen" button on the heater blower does not work, and I just can't bring myself to start stripping the centre console down when I don't really miss it. (as the aircon is always on it never steams up anyway)

Mmmm can you elaborate and jumper for wiring!
Wine bottle cork (got plenty of them) why not use a plastic cork!
A new sensor source would be great as i think we 308/328/Mondial have all got this problem!

Jump the two wires that plug into the sensor together.
