Hey all, New owner of a 458 Spyder here. This might sound like a pretty basic question, but, what happens to the water and soap that enters the engine bay via openings in the engine cover? (I am assuming it drains). Do I need to manually dry that water that enters the engine bay. Is it ok to leave it alone to self dry? Thanks!

I would guess not, as you don't manually dry it after driving in the rain. Just rinse the car off and you should be good.

Nice spec! (Except I'm an Italia guy)

Somehow the water and soap make their way to the ground underneath the car. Newton called it gravity.

    It’s not a problem.

However, getting water on the inside of the engine cover window on the Italia is a real pain to keep clean. Be glad you have a Spider.

Fire it up for two minutes once you have dried off the outside of the car for a bit. Shakes it off well. Leaves less residue after the water.

I have a spider - just rinse it super well so soap residue doesn’t sit in crevices and you will be fine. Highly recommend a CR spotless setup to keep water spots etc out of everything.

Just to add. If anythign, get a powerful electric leaf blower and just blow your engine compartment dry after the wash. Works a treat as well to get water out from hard-to-get places elsewhere on the car.

Metro Master Air Blaster is a great way to dry your total car the touchless way. In past used micro fiber this & that to dry. No swirls etc as long as you do the wash correctly.
