I know this topic has been beaten to death in previous posts, but I was hoping for some simple steps along with materials to use with the average time you spend on each step washing and waxing your Ferrari.
I will be getting my first 550 shortly and want to take are of it but I do not want to spend the entire day cleaning it each weekend.
I am used to the combined Blue coral wash with wax in it for my work daily cars. I can hear the gasps now if I were to do this on the Ferrari.
I live in Florida and the car is red. The car is just being detailed and polished and the front retaped.
Will I just use a standard car soap with no wax in it. Then use a wax stripper like zymol every time I wash it, followed by like MaGuires Gold wax. Do I need to use a stripper every time I wash and wax? Do you guys do this every weekend after you drive it? How long does all this take to do? Does a power orbital buffer make it easier and faster?
I enjoy driving but do not like maintenance.
    Thanks for the input.

Yes, this horse is badly beaten -- you'll see all kinds of stuff by doing a search. But I'll offer a quick summary of my own habits:

I drive 2-3 times a week and I wash it myself about once a month (sometimes even less often). It takes about 2 hours to do a thorough job. It doesn't bother me a bit if it's dirty -- I bought it to drive. The only things I do worry about cleaning up promptly are bird and tree droppings.

I don't use wax -- only a polymer finish -- a couple coats every few months.

And 2 buckets for the wash.

Here is just what you need to read. How to wash and dry

Then here is an artical on Waxing Waxing informationI strongly reccomend reading "using clay ,Paint prep" later on. It will make the read GLOW!!
Just like anything else "It's all in the prep work".
